Shy Fairy

I've used the Some Odd Girl August sketch (in mirror image) with Shy Fairy. Her hair matches the birthday girl and I've coordinated her clothes with the patterned paper. I didn't have a matching red/pink Promarker so I mixed watermelon and burnt orange for a near perfect match to the flower's colour. My red and pink Promarkers need adding to, methinks! My little bug: a butterfly carrying the birthday girls age.

Windmill

Card #2 for today

This card uses Sketch Saturday #267 rotated 90º, paper pieced windmill (otherwise known as a pinwheel) by Lawn Fawn (Lawnscapings Challenge) and Polka Dot patterned paper and die cut (CAS-ual Fridays Challenge). My stamping smudged and as I kinda liked it,  I decided to make it intentional and rolled as I stamped the next few swirls. Glossy hearts accentuate a sentiment and cover up inky smudges! The windmill is on a spring so you can flick it with your finger, it's surprisingly addictive.

Obrigados

A special thank you from all of us for a Portuguese friend. I hope I've got the sentiment correct (he speaks at least four languages fluently).

The main sentiment is die cut from black card, heat embossed on patterned paper, fussy cut and paper pieced. I've stamped the present in Versamark ink, partially paper pieced it and shaded it with antique linen distress ink.

Muse Framed

Therese Calvird is our muse this week. I've taken inspiration from her card layout and inverted it. I've used the same shaped card, plus I've framed my image in a dark solid colour with large white border and used five elements with a sentiment. 

The blue flamingo amongst the pink ones reminded me of Vincent Van Gogh's Irises: one white flower in a sea of blue, of being alone in a crowd, standing tall and being yourself.

I coloured the daisies & cardstock with Promarkers/Flexmarkers.  I love the flick the Flexmarkers provide and I look forward to practicing this technique.

Peggy's Picnic Party

In my last card inspired by the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger the tangerine shone through, in this card I wanted the green to take centre stage. I love this Hero Arts/Sizzix Medallion Embossing Folder and the Hero Arts Orange Soda and Butter Bar Inks. I swiped the ink cube carefully on the embossed surface, cut, stamped and coloured the other elements and 'pop dots' my finished card!

Teenz Rock

This is a fab image from KennyK, I had great fun colouring and distressing it to add some grime! I went to town with distress ink on the embossed background- what a ball! All it's missing is some graffiti.

Bundle of Joy

I've based my colour scheme on the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger & used the Lawnscaping Challenge #61 Sketch. I've mirrored the ric rac ribbon with my chevrons in orange, yellow & green. There's a slight ombre/rainbow effect as I left some orange ink when I stamped the yellow, cleaned the stamp for yellow, left some yellow to stamp with the green and finally stamped with the green. I love the black wrap on the embroidery thread so had to include a deep black frame for my image plus some kraft card to hold everything together like in the trigger picture.

Fun, fun, fun with lots of dimension, fussy cutting and masking tape diecut clouds. Sequins are used as a highlight on the bundle of joy, for wheels on the pram and as flowers with black enamel dot centres.

There are 7 layers of card, 8 if you include the sequins on top!

Instead of the banner in the sketch, I've had a go at a washi ruffle. There is a lot going on in this card, so I love the see-through lightness of the washi as compared to a solid banner.
