Textured Monochrome Hearts & Vinyl

Grá O'Neill - Paper Learning Curve - Lawn Fawn Violet's ABCs, Smitty's ABCs, Prima Finnabair Honey Comb, Vintage Vanity Notes, Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles, Circle Stackables, Tag It You're It

Some textured monochrome fun for a music loving couple. Lots of textures from linen cardstock, distressed edges, canvas panel, lace, ribbon, rough gems, glossy accents and clay stamped hearts. I've used the sketch from Seven Hills Crafts monthly challenge for the layout of the card with a few extra layers.

I love all the different textures, layers, inking and misting. The monochrome palette from cream through brown to gold emphasis the different surfaces: matte, glossy, sparkly! I chosen November's Texture Challenge #18 to wish the Mixed Media Challenge a Happy 2nd Anniversary!

My favourite piece: the stamped, inked, distress stickled, misted hearts.

Engagement

I wanted a go at negative space & pink space, so I die cut a heart from the white textured card front & coloured it pink with Worn Lipstick Distress ink. A second heart was embossed with flowers & vines, coloured with distress ink, the flowers were highlighted with Star Dust Stickles and the whole heart was covered in Glossy Accents.  I love how the Stickles picks up the colour of the distress ink underneath it. More Stickles were added to the large heart & the banner sentiment. The base card was coloured pink & stamped with roses & vines.

Dust 'Em Off: This is my first time using the Disney stamps & Jak Heath Paper. I've had them in my stash for ages. I very rarely use the Congratulations stamp, but I do love all the curls- perfect for glitter!

Top Tip:
If you don't have the space or cash for all the colours of glitter glues, just buy an iridescent glitter glue. It will pick up the distress ink or Promarker/Sharpie colour underneath. The Stickles looked really pink after applied to the wet (or almost dry) distress ink and the sharpies changed my iridescent glue rainbow colours.
