Bokeh Forty

Grá O'Neill - Paper Learning Curve - Lawn Fawn Cole's ABCs, Quinn's 123s, Circle Stackers

After a busy and fun filled family summer, I've finally got a chance to post a card on my blog. Hopefully this is the first of more regular posting now the back to school routine is well established and in theory I've more time on my hands.

Now to the latest creation, I've let the sentiment be the focal point as per the Lawnscaping Challenge this week and created a distress ink coloured bokeh background to display the glittery diecuts. A few sequins and hey presto, a fabulous card! Hey presto needs to be associated with the cards I make at the moment as time is a luxury in between the school runs and never ending laundry that piles up in the wetter weather! All magic welcome!

Quilled Shamrock

Grá O'Neill- Paper Learning Curve: Lawn Fawn Violet's ABCs,Stitched Rectangles, Simon Says Stamp Happy die, Quilled Shamrock.

Lá fhéile Pádraig sona dhaoibh! Hope you are having a wonderful Paddy's day and are revelling in the green. For this special day, I've had another go at quilling with my toothpick. This is so much fun, if there were a few more hours in the day I could spend my time quilling landscapes! It's very relaxing and simple to do.

This card would fit under a few of the choices for BINGO at Craft for the Craic. I chose the central column, even though I don't have any chipboard, because I wanted to make faux-chipboard. This is great for adding dimension by using any of your dies or punches to fake chipboard embellishments. I diecut the happy sentiment three times and stuck them together, you could use even more layers for chunkier chipboard. And yes I did spot the P in need of more adhesive just before it was posted, but not in time for more photos!
I wanted to keep the white spaced uncluttered as the shamrock was very detailed and also stick to the CAS(E) this Sketch. Instead of stamping on all the layers I used sequins on all the layers and positioned some of them half under the layers similar to the sketch.

Happy Paddy's Day! Hope you all get a chance to enjoy wearing the green and have fun!  See you soon.

Note:
Paddy is the diminutive form of Patrick taken from Padraig (Irish for Patrick). Pat is also used, I've even known a male Patsy but I don't know any males who use a double T in their pet name. Some Patricia's do use it along with Trish.
