Menswear

I don't use a lot of orange but when I saw the Runway Inspired Challenge photo the colours clicked into place. This is their first menswear collection perfect for a male card. I loved the solid blocks of colour on the top, mirrored by the solid stars & blocks of chevrons on my card. I've used the Waltzingmouse Stamps Sketch for this card and I really like the cluster of stars. Initially I could only visualise this as flowers (not exactly what I wanted for a male card) then I saw the star burst. The colours have a real Autumnal feel so I reached for my tiny trees & stamped first on scrap paper & then on my card for a softer look. I used black ink, stamped on the orange distress ink background which took on a slightly green hue.

I went a little over board with the foam squares, but still managed to fit it into a regular envelope. A great find for me was how close shaded lilac distress ink is to ProMarker Blue Pearl and I'm still in love with chevrons, a hot trend that Young Crafters Unite is looking for.

Birthday Bag

This is my first shaped card, a prototype! I created the template with a tent card as the starting point and an image of small rigid satin bags with dainty handles in my head. As you can see I need to work on the dainty handles. The bag had to be pink, just perfect for Jane. The gems sparkle & the edges appear less rough in person, but I think a slightly thinner card would work better next time.

Hatty Birthday

This is my first chance to ink this lovely stamp I won from Little Miss Muffet Stamps April Release.  I've used my favourite colour combo teal & white with a swirly embossed background and teal lace. It's a fun sentiment to go with the stamp, to add a little humour to the 40th birthday card.

Looking  at my background I not sure if it is embossed or debossed. It seemed embossed when I stuck it down, but now with the photograph I'm not sure! The lace is strategically placed over the join and Stickles & Glossy Accents add a little sparkle.
