CAS No Line Bunny

I've been busy this month playing along on Instagram with Kathy Racoosin of The Daily Marker for the 30 Day Colouring Challenge. Thought it was time I blogged one of the cards as it is Day 26 already and I'll hopefully get time to do a review of the finished pieces at some stage. This is my first time trying no line colouring, though I think the rabbit has changed shape a little bit!
I've used the CAS(E) this sketch #183 and my background is all about colour for Virginia's View Challenge #22.

Week 4 Summer of Creativity

Grá O'Neill - Paper Learning Curve - Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Childhood Blueprint, Prima Finnabair Honey Comb, Vintage Vanity Notes, Harlequin, Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles

Archival resist technique on glossy paper for Week 4 of the Summer of Creative Chemistry. Having lots of fun with this one and it's my first time using glossy paper. The background is stamped with archival ink and coloured with distress inks. The main image is stamped with Jet Black archival ink and I've used the mini ink blender to stamp distress ink over the blocks for a touch of colour. If you look closely you can even see some faux second generation stamping around the top edge.

Don't look too closely or you'll see my fingerprints, where my heat gun missed a tiny bit of the ink and I promptly put my finger there. Advisory: make sure you fully heat set!

Week 2 Summer of Creative Chemistry

Grá O'Neill - Paper Learning Curve - Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Childhood Blueprint, Lawn Fawn Cole's Stitched Rectangles, Tim Holtz Distress Stains Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, Picket Fence, Ripe Persimmon, Distress Ink Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Black Soot

Week 2 and stamping with stains. I started out using the marbled stains technique to create the background, layering up the colours until I achieved something I thought would work. This technique has been on my to do list since I first watched the video, but I've just been brave enough to give it a go! Why did I wait?! It's so much fun!

Stage two was stamping with picket fence distress stain and then archival ink.

Stage three distress inking and colouring the piggy bank with distress markers.

Some more stain for a quick pop of colour.

Bokeh Forty

Grá O'Neill - Paper Learning Curve - Lawn Fawn Cole's ABCs, Quinn's 123s, Circle Stackers

After a busy and fun filled family summer, I've finally got a chance to post a card on my blog. Hopefully this is the first of more regular posting now the back to school routine is well established and in theory I've more time on my hands.

Now to the latest creation, I've let the sentiment be the focal point as per the Lawnscaping Challenge this week and created a distress ink coloured bokeh background to display the glittery diecuts. A few sequins and hey presto, a fabulous card! Hey presto needs to be associated with the cards I make at the moment as time is a luxury in between the school runs and never ending laundry that piles up in the wetter weather! All magic welcome!

Oh so much fun! Gesso, gelatos, sprays and beads for Challenge #4 at the Waltzingmouse PJ Party. I've followed the Bedtime Story sketch from WMS and taken inspiration from the Card Concept for this mixed media card. Rainbow ombre butterflies and ombre blue gelato background with burlap flags.

I've used one of my favourite Old Pajamas, Half Pint Heroes for this challenge with a not so old hello die! Lots of pearlescent embossing paste, a few sequins and distress inking completes the background.

We Totally Click

Grá O'Neill- Paper Learning Curve: Paper Smooches We Totally Click, Simon Says Stamp Dot Stencil, Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles

Monochromatic ombre smooching using Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough and Pine Needles. I love how these colours blend together. My addiction to glitter continues as I've sprayed the background with iridescent glimmer mist and added a row of glitter paste through a Simon Says Stamp dot stencil.

The pens are heat embossed in white and liquid platinum on vellum, then fussy cut. The perfect image for the giant ink splat background! This is an anniversary card for my hubby, who after all this time still gets me!

Bokeh Birthday

Grá O'Neill - Paper Learning Curve Bokeh: Lawn Fawn Cole's ABCs, Quinn's 123s, Circle Stackers

I've wanted to make a bokeh background for ages so the Lawnscaping Challenge and Yainea's card provided the incentive and CCEE Stampers the tools.
I've blended distress inks on watercolour cardstock. Then stencilled white ink circles and daubed white gesso (faux acrylic) for more vibrant foreground circles, some gold splater and glittery sentiment to finish.
I love all the dimension created within the bokeh background. The diecut letters are layered and coated with glitter paste adding to the texture, sparkle and dimension. Just right to make a late entry for Virginia's View Challenge.

WMS April PJ Party

Grá O'Neill - Paper Learning Curve: Waltzingmouse Stamps A Good Egg, Gift Card It die, Simon Says Stamp Polka dot stencil

I've created a gift card card for a new arrival for the Waltzingmouse Stamps Pajama Party Challenge #2. I'm addicted to glitter paste so I've covered the card base in dimensional silver glitter polka dots and used vellum for the next layer because I couldn't bear to cover them up or the stamping on the gift card. The sentiment is embossed with liquid platinum adding to the dimension.

Poor lighting conditions as I sought out the last of the sun's rays in the garden for my photography session. Lots of shadows, but I hope you can get the gist!

Unicorn Shaker

Grá O'Neill- Paper Learning Curve: Paper Smooches Spectrum, Sentiment Sampler, Lawn Fawn Violet's ABCs, Large Stitched Rectangles

Shaker card inspired by Kristina Werner's video of a shaker card made using fun foam. I've created a springtime watercolour background with rainbows and clouds from the Paper Smooches Spectrum stamp set, added white sequins and clear seed beeds to the fun foam and vellum shaker window.

Grá O'Neill- Paper Learning Curve: Paper Smooches Spectrum, Sentiment Sampler, Lawn Fawn Violet's ABCs, Large Stitched Rectangles

A little watercolouring and some stickles for the unicorn and we're almost ready to go! A fun and surprisingly quick card to make, ignoring the glue drying time. I'm still experimenting to find the best glue for foam.
