CAS No Line Bunny

I've been busy this month playing along on Instagram with Kathy Racoosin of The Daily Marker for the 30 Day Colouring Challenge. Thought it was time I blogged one of the cards as it is Day 26 already and I'll hopefully get time to do a review of the finished pieces at some stage. This is my first time trying no line colouring, though I think the rabbit has changed shape a little bit!
I've used the CAS(E) this sketch #183 and my background is all about colour for Virginia's View Challenge #22.

Distressed Frog Prince

I love these old patterned papers from Lawn Fawn and had scraps left over from an old project, so here they are with a new lease of life. All they needed was some distress inking around the edges and some faux stitching.

Distress inking the lily pad has created great texture and colour with distress stickles adding to the lily's sparkle and the ink colours the stickles.

Old Goat

Grá O'Neill- Paper Learning Curve: Simon Says Stamp Birthday Farm Animals stamps & dies, Mama Elephant Balloon et cetera, Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles

I've had a go at something a little different for me: Peel off outline stickers!  I won these in a raffle and thought they'd go well with the cupcake goat. I've used the CAS(E) this sketch #115 and a freestyle collage style for the Card Concept's cupcake challenge.

This little goat was coloured for  Kathy Racoosin's (The Daily Marker) 30 Day Colouring Challenge and I'm so glad he made it to a card. The goat is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, clear embossed and coloured with distress markers. The cupcake decorations are stamped in sliver & iridescent sparkle embossed.

Quilled Shamrock

Grá O'Neill- Paper Learning Curve: Lawn Fawn Violet's ABCs,Stitched Rectangles, Simon Says Stamp Happy die, Quilled Shamrock.

Lá fhéile Pádraig sona dhaoibh! Hope you are having a wonderful Paddy's day and are revelling in the green. For this special day, I've had another go at quilling with my toothpick. This is so much fun, if there were a few more hours in the day I could spend my time quilling landscapes! It's very relaxing and simple to do.

Grá O'Neill- Paper Learning Curve: Lawn Fawn Violet's ABCs,Stitched Rectangles, Simon Says Stamp Happy die, Quilled Shamrock.

This card would fit under a few of the choices for BINGO at Craft for the Craic. I chose the central column, even though I don't have any chipboard, because I wanted to make faux-chipboard. This is great for adding dimension by using any of your dies or punches to fake chipboard embellishments. I diecut the happy sentiment three times and stuck them together, you could use even more layers for chunkier chipboard. And yes I did spot the P in need of more adhesive just before it was posted, but not in time for more photos!
I wanted to keep the white spaced uncluttered as the shamrock was very detailed and also stick to the CAS(E) this Sketch. Instead of stamping on all the layers I used sequins on all the layers and positioned some of them half under the layers similar to the sketch.

Happy Paddy's Day! Hope you all get a chance to enjoy wearing the green and have fun!  See you soon.

Note:
Paddy is the diminutive form of Patrick taken from Padraig (Irish for Patrick). Pat is also used, I've even known a male Patsy but I don't know any males who use a double T in their pet name. Some Patricia's do use it along with Trish.

Watercoloured Bundle of Joy

Grá O'Neill - Paper Learning Curve: Lawn Fawn Plus One, Home Sweet Home, Large Stitched Rectangles, Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil

I love this week's CAS(E) this sketch but as my last card using it wasn't very CAS I thought I'd give it another go. Distress inks are so much fun, whether they be markers or pads! A surprise bundle of joy is on the way in our extended family later in the year, so I thought I'd spread a little cheer.
I've used Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil with translucent paste for the stars and these are my dots for the Lawnscaping Challenge.

Grá O'Neill - Paper Learning Curve: Lawn Fawn Plus One, Home Sweet Home, Large Stitched Rectangles, Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil

I've embossed the images to make watercolouring easier and the sentiment for a bit of sparkle. More embossing for Virginia's View Challenge- love this technique!

Mixed Media & Embossed Thinking

Grá O'Neill- Paper Learning Curve: Lawn Fawn You've Got Mail, Clearly Besotted Basic Stripes, Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles, Simon Says Stamp Polka Dot Party Stencil, Tim Holtz Dot Fade Stencil

Mixed Media background card with lots of embossing: embossing paste dots sanded back to white after applying gelato colour, sprays and stamped stripes, embossed label tape and white heat embossed then watercoloured images. I chose the background colours from the Card Concept's inspiration photo and sanded the embossing paste back to white as a nod to the vase in the photo.  But how did I go from flowers to postbox, I hear you ask! When your thinking of someone you might send flowers, but mostly you'll send a note through the post (or email through the internet) and as our postboxes are green and all spring like it was settled!

Grá O'Neill- Paper Learning Curve: Lawn Fawn You've Got Mail, Clearly Besotted Basic Stripes, Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles, Simon Says Stamp Polka Dot Party Stencil, Tim Holtz Dot Fade Stencil

I've used the CAS(E) this sketch but, as the card involved lots of steps, fussy cutting and messing about with gelatos and sprays, it doesn't fall under their CAS theme. It does contain dots, stripes and lovely Lawn Fawn images so perfect for the Lawnscaping Challenge and three types of embossing for Virginia's View Embossing Challenge which is one year old this month. Embossing was one of the first techniques I tried as a cardmaker and I still love it in all its forms.

Anyone following me on Instagram will recognise the postbox. I originally coloured this as part of Kathy Racoosin's (The Daily Marker) 30 Day Colouring Challenge. It's lovely to see the coloured image on a card!
Hope you enjoyed your visit and see you again soon.

Purrfect Birthday CAS(E)#95 MtDSTechnique VVC#8

Lawn Fawn Spooktacular, Hat's Off To You, Lawn Fawn Large stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts

Masking and more and more masking, this card contains 3 types! Embossing and embossing, yes you guessed it, this card contains 2 types! I started out by masking off a rectangular section of my stencil with painter's tape and applied the embossing paste. While this was drying I created a party hat mask with post-it note tape, stamped up my images and coloured in my tabby cat. I've kept the mask with my stamp set so I can use it again. The sentiment is a combination of two sets, I masked out the word halloween with washi tape before inking in versamark, removed the tape, stamped and embossed on vellum. The birthday was then stamped and embossed. The sentiment was stamped and embossed in two stages as I didn't want to smudge the almost invisible versamark.

Lawn Fawn Spooktacular, Hat's Off To You, Lawn Fawn Large stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts

This card is a refinement of my last card. I wanted to use a more subdued palette and have a go at some masking. I've used CAS(E) this sketch #95 for the layout,  kept it clean and simple for Virginia' View Challenge #8 and tried a few techniques for Make the Day Special's October Challenge.

Jane's Birthday Card

Hero Arts Sparkle Clear: Glam, Simon Says Stamp Happy Sentiments, Lawn Fawn Smitty's ABCs

Seeing as it's STAMPtember I had to stamp my own background! I've used the beautiful Hero Arts stamps [and paper flowers] that I won from Julie's Oh Well... 300 Posts GiveawayJulie has some beautiful card and project inspiration on her blog which is well worth a visit.

This is my first time using this type of paper flower. I've used a few of the petals for a fuller look, added extra glitter, covered the brad with silver liquid pearls and topped with a half pearl I had coloured with distress ink.
The Simon Says Stamp Happy die cut was layered a few times with the top coloured layer placed off centre for a shadow effect and lots of stickles and glossy accents to finish it off. I love using staples to adhere embellishments and this card has the added bonus of one of my favourite colour combinations: pink and silver [& a little navy!] As the background is very busy my birthday sentiment was stamped on vellum and I kept the embossed banner white with some distress inking around the edges to tie the two pieces together. I tried to keep this card as CAS as possible using the same colour of distress ink & embellishments and a large white banner.

Hero Arts Sparkle Clear: Glam, Simon Says Stamp Happy Sentiments, Lawn Fawn Smitty's ABCs

I've used this week's CAS(E) this sketch for my card layout and A Blog Named Hero's challenge to "Spell It Out For Me" to personalise this card for a very special Jane. Hopefully Jane can use the banner as a bookmark.
