Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

http://cutscropscreativity.com/2014/09/coffee-lovers-bloghop-2/

I've had to make a quick card for Chaitali's Coffee Lovers' Blog Hop as I've been relaxing with my family and therefore wasn't surfing the internet so there is less than 12 hours left! Coincidentally one of my crafty friends just handed me a bunch of stuff which had this cafetiere stamp in it (my one and only coffee themed stamp) so this card was meant to be! I wanted to make her a thank you card and as I'm not a latte drinker I had to come up with a different sentiment.
I've die cut the main sentiment and placed some ivory vellum behind it, which catches the lightly beautifully. You would be able to see this, but as it was photographed in the late evening, the sunlight was only reaching the tree tops and not my card!

Hope everyone is enjoying National Coffee Lovers' Day and that you've been perked up by all the caffeinated inspiration along the hop! If you are quick there may still be time to link up and win some prizes,  if not grab a cuppa and enjoy! Thanks Chaitali for all the fun.

Supplies
Stamps: Lawn Fawn Smitty's ABCs
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Rich Cocoa
Die: Lawn Fawn Scripty Thanks
Paper: Kraft card & vellum from stash
Highlights: Glossy Accents, silver gel pen
Colouring : Promarkers in my big coffee mug!!

Now I need to remove the Promarkers and fill it up with some Java.  On second thoughts I'll leave that until the morning! Have fun and see you again soon.

WMS Blue Rocket Birthday

Waltzingmouse Stamps Half Pint Heroes, Lawn Fawn Quinn's 123s & ABCs

I really enjoyed my last crafting interlude, but was a little remiss at tiding up. Everything was stilled splayed over the table, so instead of clearing it all away I decided to use everything again with a little twist. While the embossing paste was still wet I sprinkled it with distress glitter and left it to dry by itself. I've chosen a blue colour scheme for a cooler and brighter look. I made sure to leave room for the WMS have a blast sentiment on the front of the card, but can you spot what I forgot to add in? Yes, the three dots to connect the numbers, hopefully Ruairí will not be too upset!

The glitter is fab in the sunlight, but a little muted on camera. I'm not sure if this is the best way to ensure the glitter stays put, as there was some rub off. Next time I might try some glittery embossing powders.

Challenges:
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps Half Pint Heroes, Lawn Fawn Quinn's 123s & ABCs
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Stencil: Prima Finnabair Stars
Paper: White card from stash
Highlights: Glossy Accents, Stickles, distress glitter, white embossing paste, silver gel pen, Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Gold

As you can see, I now have a great excuse for not tiding up- extra crafting inspiration! I don't think I'll get away with that for long though so I'd better bite the bullet and put everything back in its own crafty space. Thanks for visiting and hope to see you again soon.

WMS Red Rocket Birthday

Waltzingmouse Stamps Half Pint Heroes, Lawn Fawn Quinn's 123s & ABCs

I've not had a lot of crafty time over the last few months, but I wanted to celebrate Waltzingmouse Fanatics Challenge's first birthday. I've used one of my favourite Waltzingmouse stamps and a few of my favourite techniques to create a starry sky for the birthday rocket. I love how you can choose a face to match the birthday boy!

The star stencil was a little thicker than my other masks, so allowed a much deeper layer of embossing paste. After inking with distress inks I wiped the stars to leave them a little brighter than the background and added some splatter drop planets in red, white and gold.

My main sentiment was on the inside as the rocket's countdown and the stars had taken over all of the outside! This sentiment is one of the reasons I keep coming back to the rocket stamp, time and time again.

Another look at the glitter and glossy accents added to the stars and the cute little red rocket.

Jane's Birthday Card

Hero Arts Sparkle Clear: Glam, Simon Says Stamp Happy Sentiments, Lawn Fawn Smitty's ABCs

Seeing as it's STAMPtember I had to stamp my own background! I've used the beautiful Hero Arts stamps [and paper flowers] that I won from Julie's Oh Well... 300 Posts GiveawayJulie has some beautiful card and project inspiration on her blog which is well worth a visit.

This is my first time using this type of paper flower. I've used a few of the petals for a fuller look, added extra glitter, covered the brad with silver liquid pearls and topped with a half pearl I had coloured with distress ink.
The Simon Says Stamp Happy die cut was layered a few times with the top coloured layer placed off centre for a shadow effect and lots of stickles and glossy accents to finish it off. I love using staples to adhere embellishments and this card has the added bonus of one of my favourite colour combinations: pink and silver [& a little navy!] As the background is very busy my birthday sentiment was stamped on vellum and I kept the embossed banner white with some distress inking around the edges to tie the two pieces together. I tried to keep this card as CAS as possible using the same colour of distress ink & embellishments and a large white banner.

I've used this week's CAS(E) this sketch for my card layout and A Blog Named Hero's challenge to "Spell It Out For Me" to personalise this card for a very special Jane. Hopefully Jane can use the banner as a bookmark.
