Happy Birthday To You...

Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday dear Emer...
Happy Birthday to you!

There were more songs in my head like "99 Red Balloons", but as there was only one on the card, I chose to be super original with Happy Birthday to You! I love this image by Saturated Canary, the eyes are fabulous. I kept singing "Don't you make my brown eyes blue", but this is a happy card. I have used Jen's sketch from Sketch Saturday for the layout of the card. I felt it made the card look like a present all wrapped up for a party. Initially I intended a large star with happy birthday on it where the ribbons meet, but I loved the deeper colour where they crossed over each other & wanted to leave it showing. So with some masking of the Paper Smooches happy birthday, we have a lovely right aligned sentiment.

Have A Blast!

I've disguised this birthday boy's age as part of the rocket's count down, but I think the big red glittery 65 probably give it away! I love the silver embossed panel so much, it's tactile & shiny and I want to find more ways to use it. Another favourite is white embossing powder, I love watching it develop and the end result. The glossy accents on the window even picked up a little glare, how it did under the Winter sun I'm not sure.

10 Minute Craft Dash

This is a quick CAS card & post! This is my first time trying anything like this. I created in less than 10 minutes for the CAS-Friday 10min Craft Dash & if I'd pre-applied the stamps to the block it would have been even quicker. I choose my colour scheme based on Moxi Fab World Tuesday Trigger, lots of white space with golds & blue. The sentiment is from Hero Arts & the snowflakes are Hero Arts, Kars and Papermania. This is the first inking of my snowflakes.

Rocking on New Year's Eve!

A rocking card for a new baby. When I saw the gingham seat in the Tuesday Trigger Photo, I had my colour scheme, even if my burgundy is a little redder. I've kept this card very simple with just four colours, some stickles, glossy accents and iridescent stars.

Make A Wish

Playing with my new Critters Ever After by Lawn Fawn I got my dragon to blow out my blazing number 4 candle. I also had a go at faking washi tape & used lots of glitter glue!
I missed playing along with the Papertake Weekly Challenge at the begining of October, so am taking my chance to redo the All Creatures Great & Small Challenge using my fierce dragon.

Peacock Feathers Easel Card

Easel cards are perfect for a special occasion. They are great fun to make & not anything like a traditional shop bought card. Not everyone is fond of Peacock feathers, but I love them. Their colours are rich & gorgeous and the shapes are fascinating. These are shop bought so nothing as vivid as the ones you can collect when peacocks moult.  When I first saw the Perfectly Paisley Cuttlebug embossing folder I thought of peacock's feathers, so had to use it on this card. I've coloured the ribbon with a Turquoise Promarker to match the feathers, the beautiful Bo Bunny Vintage Double Dot cardstock and one of my favourite Distress Inks, Peacock Feathers. How could I not use it! A bit of swirly bling & space to add the special date in. Hey Presto a wedding card (well the next one will be quicker, this one had a lot of will I put it there, no there, no there).

Engagement

I wanted a go at negative space & pink space, so I die cut a heart from the white textured card front & coloured it pink with Worn Lipstick Distress ink. A second heart was embossed with flowers & vines, coloured with distress ink, the flowers were highlighted with Star Dust Stickles and the whole heart was covered in Glossy Accents.  I love how the Stickles picks up the colour of the distress ink underneath it. More Stickles were added to the large heart & the banner sentiment. The base card was coloured pink & stamped with roses & vines.

Dust 'Em Off: This is my first time using the Disney stamps & Jak Heath Paper. I've had them in my stash for ages. I very rarely use the Congratulations stamp, but I do love all the curls- perfect for glitter!

Top Tip:
If you don't have the space or cash for all the colours of glitter glues, just buy an iridescent glitter glue. It will pick up the distress ink or Promarker/Sharpie colour underneath. The Stickles looked really pink after applied to the wet (or almost dry) distress ink and the sharpies changed my iridescent glue rainbow colours.
