Love, Muse & Sketch

Lawn Fawn Peace Joy Love, You've Got Mail, Into the Woods, Winter Gifts, Tag You're It, Heart Dies

This card was inspired by my Lawnscaping muse, Yainea's Thank-you card. I've used lots of glitter, tags, cord, a central die cut shape, white embossing and glimmer mist spray.  I love Yainea's cards and find great inspiration on her blog: My Paper Journey.
My layout is taken from CTS#61 and the Lovey Dovey theme from Sentimental Sundays Challenge #191.

Lawn Fawn Peace Joy Love, You've Got Mail, Into the Woods, Winter Gifts, Tag You're It, Heart Dies

To make the card for the tags, I brushed white card with gesso and allowed it to dry. I then applied and blended Black soot distress ink and Memento London Fog onto the card. Lastly I liberally sprayed with glimmer mist to add lots of shine. For a fabulous example of this technique see Gayatri's gorgeous card on her blog. For the background, I randomly stamped 3 solid hearts from different Lawn Fawn sets in Picked Raspberry, stickle-ing and stella-ing some of them.

My next challenge is to decide if this is a valentine's card or a bride to be on her hen night's card and choose an appropriate sentiment for the inside. What do you think?

CTS#61 Boy Birthday Blast

Waltzingmouse Stamps Half Pint Heroes

I had the idea to use silver mirror card, white on the inside so easy to write a message and gloriously shiny on the outside evoking machines and space. What I didn't spend much time thinking about was photographing it, in any lighting conditions never mind the dull wet Irish days!
I've used CTS #61 for the  layout of this card but I rounded the elements a little. My planet is a woodgrain embossed circle die cut which has been coloured with distress inks and lightly misted with white paint. The Waltzingmouse sentiment wouldn't fit into the Lawn Fawn speech bubble so some masking and partial die cutting was called for. This was my first attempt at this technique and I love the options it opens up for your stamps and dies.
I like this card and layout, however I couldn't stop. I love the idea of the astronaut talking from his rocket- speech bubbles are so much fun! So I've added another one and then some die cut letters so you know who he's talking too.

I think this is a fun card for a five year old boy and I love the punny WMS sentiment that comes with the rocket and the countdown which allows me to highlight the age (more masking).

WMF#9 CAS(E)#60 Air

Waltzingmouse Stamps Half Pint Heroines & Heroes

I wanted to join in with Waltzingmouse Fanatics Challenge 9: Fabric, so I've stamped with Stazon on felt and done a bit of 'Felt Piecing'! I've kept with the fabric theme and used lots of sequins to colour my clouds. My layout was taken from CAS(E) this sketch #6 and I'm also taking Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge A is for.......AIR. Hopefully you can see the embossed AIR swirling around the hot AIR balloon!

Paper Smooches Muse

I've taken my inspiration for this card from Therese Calvrid who is our muse at the Muse Card Club this week. I inverted her layout, kept 5 shapes, lots of white space and a 2 line sentiment. I've only used pink, green and blue and added some gold embossing and sequins. My triangles were created with twine stuck to my stamp press, stamped with Versamark, gold embossed and water coloured with distress inks.

http://musecardclub.blogspot.ie/2014/01/muse-challenge-50.html

I've tried my hand at shadow stamping the Paper Smooches sentiment with London Fog and Tuxedo Black inks. I like the effect but it can be a little disconcerting for the eyes. My photography doesn't help whether the poor lighting or bad focusing, I apologise.

Owl I Want

Lawn Fawn You're A Hoot, Winter Gifts, Smitty's ABCs

As soon as I saw the Merry Monday photo I knew I had to make this card.  I've cut an aperture in the front of the card using Lawn Fawn Circle Stackables and framed it with paper from the Peace Love Joy Paper Pack (also used this for the hearts). My die cut circle was stamped, coloured, distressed and then lightly misted for a snowy effect.

RIC#50 Birthday

Lawn Fawn Blissful Botanicals, Year Two

I finally made some time to create my white embossed blooms. I simply adore these colours: the different shades of green, the expanse of white and the sentiment in grey like the catwalk. Lots of misting to try and obtain the sheen of the fabric and I roughed up the edges of the white panel a little so that it had a more fabric feel. My Wink of Stella was out again to let the sentiment shine. The recipient really appreciated the fashion inspiration as well. I love it when you get to express your ideas and the person on the receiving end gets it too!

I've also enjoyed seeing the off kilter panels on cards and had to give this idea a go. Must dash as time is running out if I want to link this to the challenge!

Retro Rocket Birthday

Waltzingmouse Stamps Half Pint Heros, SC/ Hero Arts Starburst Background

I love to combine challenges so when I saw the Waltzingmouse Fanatics Colour Challenge and the Retrosketches challenge, a rocket was launched! I wouldn't normally mix reds, peaches and black, but nature does so I gave it a go.  I inked my background with Barn Door, Festive Berries, Antique Linen, Iced Spruce, Black Soot, Potter's Clay and London Fog hoping to achieve a nebulous sky. Over the red portion I masked and misted Starburst Background for the rocket's plume to echo the rays from the sketch. My rocket was coloured with red, peach, gray and beige Promarkers, black enamel, Wink of Stella and Stickles.

I've also taken A Blog Named Hero's Challenge to use 1 & 4: One Hero Arts stamp and 4 Waltzingmouse stamps. I hope you can see all the glittery bits on this card a little better than my last rocket photography attempt.

On Trend Birthday

Fresh Squeezed Stamps On Trend 2013

Pink and orange hot distress ink sunset as the backdrop to my shiny silver city. Another quick entry for the 10 Minute Craft Dash. After inking and misting I heat set the background for a minute and liberally covered it in powder from my magic bag. I had all the stamps on one block and quickly restamped the skyline before heat embossing in silver. Masking tape and sequin ribbon to ground the image and stop the clock. 9 minutes 54.13 seconds, yay!

Fresh Squeezed Stamps On Trend 2013

Lots of glitter and shine for a sparkly new year birthday. Outside the 10 minute window I added some die cut letters to personalise the card. This card is also for Sentimental Sundays 'Pick from our Favourite Challenge', under Challenge #170: Happy Birthday and Papertake Weekly Challenge: Pick of the Year under the challenge from June: Hot Hot Hot.

Get Well 10 Minute Craft Dash Circle

Lawn Fawn Into The Woods

This card is for a friend who had an accident recently. I wanted to cheer him up, make him smile and hopefully forget about his injury for a bit! I hope this falls under the category of Get Well as I wanted to play along with the 4 Crafty Chicks
The deer was coloured very quickly using three shades of brown and a pink, please don't look too closely! Then I stamped my speech bubble and set to die cutting. It took 5 passes through my die-cutting machine to get all the shapes. More stamping, liquid glue, pop dots, Wink of Stella and a crazy dash for a few dabs of enamel! Did I make the 10 Minute Craft Dash cutoff?

I created this card in 8 minutes 54.13 seconds. Now I just have to hope this posted in time to link up to the challenge.

Lawn Fawn Into The WoodsLawn Fawn Into The Woods

I designed a circular card so the I could enter Sentimental Sundays 'Pick from our Favourite Challenge', under Challenge #177: Shaped or Easel Cards, but mine isn't a birthday card so I'll have to enter it under Challenge #146: Anything Goes. I missed these first time round and really wanted to give it a go.

Lawn Fawn Into The Woods

One last photo with the special envelope I created for the card. This time the card is facing away from the sunlight so you can see the pattern on the pale blue paper.
